A message to the participant of the meeting, held by Elie Wiesel in New-York on June, 23 and dedicated to the «Yukos case»
On the 19-th of June 2003 there was arrested Alexey Pichugin – the head of the «Yukos»’ Security department. After seven years had elapsed it is obvious: the prosecution initially staked on him for to convict the top-management of the disgraced oil company. It is said not only by Pichugin’s lawyers, human rights activists, the PAEC’s representatives, journalists, but also the investigators. Alexey Pichugin preferred a life-long imprisonment to perjury. What the person is he? What was his activity in the «Yukos»’ Security department, which caused so many myths? About this and many other things the portal HRO’s correspondent Vera Vasilieva talked with the former employee of the bank ’Menatep’ Konstantin Alexandrovich Shabelnitsky.
On Thursday, April, 22, 2010, Michail Khodorkovsky stated in the Khamovnichesky district court of Moscow that the exchange of shares of the «daughter» companies of the «Eastern oil company» (VNK) to the shares of «Yukos», in spite of the affirmations of the General Prosecutor’s Office, had been valid. This exchange was compulsory for to save the «VNK» oil company of seizure by the raider’s group, headed by Eugeny Rybin’s company «East Petroleum».
The General Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation falsified the proofs of the criminal cases of Michail Khodorkovsky, Platon Lebedev, Alexey Pichugin and others «Yukos»’ representatives. The participation in the documents’ fabrication there had taken part Evgeny Rybin, a «professional» witness for prosecution. It is said in the motion, filed in the Khamovnichesky district court on April, 5 by the defense of the co-owners of the disgraced oil company and denied by the judge Victor Danilkin.
At Michail Khodorkovsky and Platon Lebedev trial the public prosecution in the Khamovnichesky district court called one of its trump cards. It is Alexey Golubovich, the former «Yukos» director of the strategic planning and corporate finances, who gives evidence at court.
